We have collected the answers to a number of frequently asked questions below, and we hope this might be helpful to you, should you have questions of your own:
Are the vehicles available for hourly rental?
Our cargo vans can be rented by the hour, between 08:00 and 16:00 hrs on weekdays.
How do you define "half day rental"?
Half day rental is available Monday through Friday, either from 08:00-16:00 or 16:00-24:00. For half day rentals from 16:00hrs, you may keep the car until 08:00 the following morning.
What is the CDW/own risk charge (deductible) in case of damage to the car?
The nature of the rental car business means is that we unfortunately experience quite a few instances of damage to the cars. Therefore, our deductible amounts are as high as 30.000 to 50.000 NOK, depending on the vehicle category and size.
It is possible to reduce the deductible amount for a small daily fee, e.g. NOK 100-125 per car per day. The deductible will then be reduced to down to NOK 6.000 for passenger cars, to NOK 8.500 for cargo vans and minivans/combivans.
How do you handle deposits?
Customers who do not have a credit or invoice agreement with us are required to provide a deposit prior to renting a car. We do this by reserving an amount additional to the rental amount on a major credit card to cover additional expenses.
The reserved amount is never withdrawn from the customer's account, but until the rental is completed and paid, the amount will not be accessible. Due to a small delay in our receiving information about automatic toll charges, we normally need 2-3 days to settle your account after the car is returned. When we have debited your card with the correct amount covering rental, toll charges and fuel, the remaining amount reserved will be released. It may take three to four days for your bank or credit card company to release the amount so that it is made available for your use.
We settle accounts within 48 hours after receiving the car back from rental. Even if the reserved amount is never withdrawn from your account, it may sometimes take longer than 5-7 days for the amount to become available to you. This has to do with the bank's or credit card's system, and is not something we can influence. Should you experience such a delay, you need to get in touch with your bank or credit card company.
Do I need a credit card to rent a car?
Yes, and this is an absolute requirement. Our insurance company instructs us to only accept major credit cards, such as VISA, Mastercard, Diners, American Express to hold the deposit when renting out cars. The only exception is made for companies which have established an invoice agreement with us. We do NOT accept cash!
Are you open on weekends?
We are open 7 days a week including Saturdays and Sundays. Saturdays from 08:00-12:00 and Sundays from 09:00-12:00. Please note that we are also open on several public holidays, check our website for the recent and updated opening hours.
What is the largest car can I drive with a regular Norwegian category B driver's license?
The weight limit for a driver's license category B is 3.500 kg. In volume, the largest category B car is a 19m3 cargo van. This is a small truck which can take up to 850 kg cargo.
Are the rental cars supplied with Autopass toll road tags?
All our cars are supplied with Autopass toll road tags, most of the tollpasses are automated. However when passed in Oslo and Bærum it will be charged to your rental agreement and deducted from the deposit. If you pass toll roads outside the Oslo area, it will be charged your credit card when the rental period is over. Check our rental conditions for more details.
Can I return the car outside you opening hours?
Yes, we have a private parking where you can park the car, and a key drop. We will show you on a map when you pick up the car. After parking the car, you need to drop the key in our key drop. At Bislet this is located on the wall a few meters to the left of our garage in Sporveisgaten. At Sogn there is a slot at the side of our small office building where you can drop the key.
Can I get the car delivered to Oslo Airport Gardermoen?
Airport delivery or drop-off is available at an extra cost. This needs to be arranged in enough time prior to your rental day.
